THE NYS EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM (EIP)

Early Intervention services, provided by RCDS, are a part of the part New York State Early Intervention Program which was developed under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Under this law, infants and toddlers are entitled to a wide range of rehabilitative services for developmental delays. The New York State EIP is administered by the NYS Department of Health (DOH) through the Bureau of Early Intervention.

REFERRAL:
To directly refer a child to the EIP, parents may call the NYS GROWING UP HEALTHY HOTLINE: 1-800-522-5006. If parents have concerns regarding their child’s development or need help with a referral, they may also contact us at our toll free number 1-888-518-8716.

Please note the EIP is a voluntary and confidential program. No private health information can be disclosed outside the scope of the program without written parental or guardian consent.

LOCATION:
EI services are provided where it’s most natural and appropriate for the child such as their home, daycare, approved facilities or other community settings.

FEES/FUNDING:
All services under EIP are provided at NO COST to parents. Health insurance or Medicaid may be accessed for reimbursement of EI services provided to eligible children and families.

ELIGIBILITY:
Eligibility for EI services can be determined only by NY State-approved EI evaluators under contract with the municipality. RCDS is a NY State DOH approved Early Intervention provider of Home & Community-Based Evaluations & Service Provision.
